Afterwards 7:45am
I had another contraction at 7:45. The cord has stopped pulsating, so Brendon cut the cord. Joshua stayed in my arms in the pool, wrapped in a towel until 8am I handed him over to Angela and Sally for a once over.

after being the water for so long, so did my perineum and vagina. I got up to have a shower  my big belly had gone!!! It was replaced with what looked like I had a big rock melon in my lower abdomen.

When I got out of the shower I rested on the bed with Joshua wrapped up as snug as a bug next to me. Debbie helped position Joshua for his first proper feed. He had a large feed.

Being stitched up was the most painful part of the whole day - I was not prepared for the pain of being stitched, or how uncomfortable I was going to be for next 9-10 days. Being stitched was the first time that I yelped out in pain.

At 10:20 I was able to pee  not just a tiny pregnant pee, but a large pee  oh what a great feeling!!!
To my surprise Joshua weighed in at 7lb 11oz or 3500grams.

I stood and tried to deliver the placenta, but nothing happened. By 8:15 the placenta still hadn't been delivered, so I climbed out of the pool, and lay down on towels beside the pool. The placenta was just inside of me. I couldn't push it out, so Debbie guided me to gently pull on the cord. That was easier said than done because it was all slippery. I think Debbie pulled the cord too, and the placenta was delivered.

During this time Sally was dressing Joshua with Brendon watching on.

Debbie and Angela examined my perineum and thought that I would need some stitches, but would need to wait and see as just as my fingers and toes looked like prunes
