Joshua Is Born 7:19am
At 7:19 Debbie let me know that he head was coming. I was expecting to then have to wait for the next contraction for the body to be born, as in the birthing videos we had seen as part of our ante-classes. That was not the case however as Debbie said "and there's a baby come on Bridget, give us a push". I kept exhaling, then Debbie guided Joshua to me, and I reached down and picked him, and bought him onto my chest. He was here!!! No big screams or shouting in agony like on TV, just a wonderful calm way of welcoming Joshua into the world.

My first reaction  after the surprise that was born in one movement instead of the head being born then waiting for the rest of his body to be born  was that he was tiny, but perfect. At last we get to meet him! I cuddled him close, and gentle scooped water over him. Our baby was here! Brendon was still sitting behind me outside of the pool, leaning over looking in awe at our son, with tears running down his cheeks.

I then wanted to know what the time was. According to the microwave clock, Joshua Cameron McLaughlin was born at 7:19 on 20 March 2003, 3 days before his estimated due date.
